The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread

Same here. I like to take care of my possessions. I financed it by myself when I was 19 (no cosigner), and paid for it myself, so I take pride in it. When the rear end decided to crap out on me, I swapped in a new one myself. Not to mention I spent so much time making it my own, because it looks nothing like it did when I first bought it.

i went from barely surviving this a 96 ford aspire
to my stx which i have been adding and changing things since i got it
i added some 18" TSW Jaramas, a bakflip tonneau cover, cold air intake, cd/mp3 player and xm radio. those are just the first of several things i want to do to it.
heres a link to my cardomain page for the truck. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/393697...pickup-2d-6-ft

the stand i have doesnt weigh much so ill be ok if i lower it. i had already planned to lower it 2 inches front and back so i can still drive in hannibal without having to worry about taking a chunk out of the stx bumper. if need be i can also put some load helpers on the back of the truck to keep it from sagging too much and scraping.

yeah that was a really messed up night. i hit the back of a parked semi at 65mph. when my dad saw the car to get when he could out of it he couldnt even tell it was a car til he saw the tail lights of it.

i dont know how i survived it cause my fiancee didnt. the EMTs and emergency workers all said if i would have hit a foot to the right i would be dead too. i found out later they also said if the guy that stopped to call 911 had shown up 30 min later i would have died. they had to cut off the roof, drivers door, the back of my seat and the brake pedal to get me out. i hit so hard it blew every window out of it, blew all 4 hubcaps off and exploded my stereo out of the dash as though there was a bomb in it.

yeah the ride was a bit rough when i first bought the truck, but when i put that heavy *** tonneau cover on it it made it ride much better. i want to lower it so it holds the road better with what i want to do to it performance wise but also to make it look better. the roads arent all that rough but they are steep and i dont want to enter a street and drag my bumper when i do. Especially since i found out how much there bumpers cost. if i did that i probly just sit in my truck and cry lmao

2/12/11 which was only 6 days after i proposed to her. the docs said that with the injuries i had that i would be in the hospital for a minimum of two weeks and wouldnt be able to go to her funeral. i set right up and looked the head doc in the eyes and said "you just f__kin watch me. I dont f__kin care if i have to hop into a f__kin wheel chair and wheel myself the 30 miles back home but NO ONE is gonna keep me away from there". three days later i was bein released to go home lol

Installed this Sony DMP along with Polk components in the door. The factory one didn't have a CD player much less a USB port.Much better, except this one doesn't have a CD player either.Guess there'll be no more CDs stuffed everywhere. The speakers really impressed.Less bass than factory but a 10" sub and a 4 channel amp is next.

Ok I guess it's my turn...
Didn't do all this in one day but well drove to the j/y to find a few parts for the Saturn and some for the Ranger.
Gave it an oil change (waaaaaay overdue!)
Used it to haul 4 seats and various interior parts to my g/f dads house, and to a buddy who lives like an hour away....
Went down to help a buddy of mine fix his 02 Dodge Neon after he hit a boulder and destroyed most of his passenger side. Then followed said friends up to Auto Zone to get more parts. So they beat me there in their little 90's Toyota Corolla but when I got to the parking lot I effortlessly ripped a donut and said "can your Toyota do that??" They just looked at me like
So later on I put new shocks on the rear (KYB GR-2's) and then later yet same on the front. Wow was a PAIN it was getting those front shocks off!!@#$% Nothing like trying to torch off rusted old hardware and cooking the rubber grommets in the process. Smells putrid and must have filled half a city block with smoke.
Also, investigated why my reverse lights were intermittent. Turns out the connector on the range selector switch was corroded on one side. Some contact cleaner, a wire brush, and 15 minutes later that problem was solved.
Then it snowed so you know I had to have some fun with that
All I need to do now is replace the license plate bulbs and get it inspected.
