I picked-up a Power Dome hood off of an '02 that got t-boned. I'm going to modify it to fit my '04 for my "Winter Project". I paid $65 for it , but i had $46 worth of scrap metal that I turned in, so the net cost was $19! Deal of the week for sure.
It's got a couple of scrapes on it, but nothing major, and one of the supports on the underside has a crack in it, but I can fix that with some 'glass and resin.

65 bucks is still a good deal for a newer hood that looks to be in good shape. I don't get it though what do you mean a winter project...what are you going to do that you couldnt do to your hood? or I guess I should word it better. I know your using this hood so your not messing with the stock hood but curious as to what your doing???

Yea I understand that/both the difference between both the powerdome and regular hood from up to 03 and the updated front end in 04. Thats what I dont get. What is he gonna do to get the 03 and under hood to fit on the 04 up? Other than maybe cut out the front section a bit to fit over the bigger front grill??? Or is that what Michael is doing? jw

Yup--
Trimming the front edge to fit around the '04's grille; I'll probably also open-up the back edge (closest to the windhield) similar to a cowl induction hood. I've seen it done on a couple PDs and it looks pretty good. There IS quite a difference in the heights of the 2 hood's domes. "Winter Project" means its something for me to do when it's 20 below zero or snowing 4 inches an hour. Yeah, we get real winters here.

Finished up the transfer case today. This included all new gaskets, a new range selector bushing, cleaned the bejeezus out of the whole thing, chased the threads, even bought 5 new bolts (with thread locker included) from the dealer. Slapped a new gasket between the t-case and the extension housing, lined everything up and WOW did that go in easy! What a pain in the buttocks... It took 5 hours to get the t-case off and measly 20 mins to put back on.
Also, I was able to salvage my catalytic converter, thereby saving $400
ahhh the magic of the blue wrench
