Went down to Corolla NC today (Nowhere close to 56k)
I took the Girlfriends 08 escape out on the beach for the first time. Just a little day trip down to Corolla then Jockeys Ridge in kitty hawk before heading home
Cant wait for memorial day to go down for some camping in Hatteras
Well on to the Pics
Found A Ranger
Friend of mine
I was driving and so was he so it was blurry but a nice Exploder none the less and was with a nice Blue 01-03 Ranger on 33s
I found this in the KFC bag
Found the wild horses
The reason my Radar Detector went off on the Beach is in the Background. Nissan Titan Police trucks

Yeah we drove for a while and then when we gave up and were leaving the horses (8) were just kinda chilling right at the beach entrance then some Horse **** lady came with pamphlets telling us we were too close to the horses and if a cop came by he would give us a ticket. Well she said we had to be 50ft away which we were like 75ft and there was a fence in between and also What she didnt realize is one already came by and didnt do anything. And i was parked in a no parking zone. Haha

On the hard packed sand in the Northern Outerbanks (ie. Nags Head and Corolla) you can. There was a Jag out on the beach.... The southern outer banks like down in Hatteras the sand is too soft and rutted up to get thru without getting stuck in a 2wd

Yeah if you go down to Hatteras National Seashore be sure to check out and see what parts of the beach are open as well as the rules cause the national park service controls that part of the beach... I think its cool in corolla that there are neighborhoods with absolutely no paved roads leading to them nothing but sand it is awesome...

I've been there the last 2 years and we took my old HHR(gay I know) and when we got back this year I bought my 09 ranger FX4. We are going this year and I would love to ride on the beach but we are taking my girlfriends Civic. What a drag. But paying gas for a vehicle that gets close to 40 mpg as opposed to a truck that gets 15 is a no brainer. Especially when coming from St. Louis area.
