Very Impressed With My Truck This Weekend

Well I made a trip to Chicago for a wedding this weekend and we took my truck as it was supposed to snow and whatnot. Well I wanted to see if I could make it there on a tank of fuel. I got out on the highway and set the cruise at 70 mph for the whole trip. Got to Chicago on one tank at about 287 miles on the trip odometer. After the filli-up it came out to about 17.87 MPG. I am giving all credit to that mileage to the programmer and a little to the EFAN, I was also on the 87 Performance setting for this trip so I am sure that I could have gotten better then that on the 93 Performance but gas is a little expensive.

Come back I let my buddy drive and he ran 80 MPH or better for most of the trip and got about 16.5 MPG which was pretty good to me as well, he paid for that tank anyways.

Just thought I would throw this out there for anyone that is looking at lifting and what then can do to improve mileage after the fact.

I would think that you will get alo better mileage with the X2, I noticed an immediate improvement.

I think it would have been even better but we hit some sleet and snow for alot of the trip down.

I guess with my efan I'm getting better than I think too! I'm averaging about 16-17 give or take .5 mpg all winter long so far! We haven't had hardly any snow yet tho...so I'm sure when it gets really cold and snowy again it'll drop...I got 18.5 on a trip to NY, cruise at about 69mph or 2500 on the tach!

Holy crap, that is terrible. I pull 20.5 at 80..........95 miles a day back and forth to work, mixed driving.

They are running on large tires......are you?

Im only getting 18 during the winter?? I was getting around 22 back before it turned cold. Is that the reason?

you can not compare mileage of a 4x2 to a 4x4
same thing for a 3.slow versus a 4.0
not comparing apples to apples in either case

Yea read my sig please. I am running 33x12.5R15s with a lift so comparing your truck and mine is no match.

Bill,

If you get yourself a cold air instake and a performance exhaust you will probably get 2-3 more mpg and you will see more of a performance increase with the tuner.
