Get a cap, I think a tonneau would be way to low to do anything.

how tall are you? i went to a drive in movie and was laying the back and my legs were hanging out onto the tailgate and im 6'2" so make sure what ever you do to make your roof is long enough so your not squished in there

Whenever you are ready there is an air mattress for you. I would recommend getting the version for the tailgate down if you are that tall, I am 6 foot and just barely squeeze in fully stretched out. I would also recommend getting a shell if you plan on sleeping back there alot. You could just get a cheap shell (I'm talking 50 bucks) and swap the cover for the shell whenever you are going to use it.

I was about to say the exact same thing, with keeping the tonneau that would be your best bet.

^^^ That isnt a bad idea or they sell the truck bed tents that is an option too since tonneau covers are light and easy to take on and off. Maybe look into one of those

very true..get a bed tent..cost around 200 bucks...
its gonna cost around 200 bucks in material to get that idea that i tossed running..but it will be unique..good part about my idea..all u gotta do is close it and take off to offroad.Rather then take apart the tent to go into town or to drive around...try my idea...use buttons and in between use velcrow.

I just throw down a pad and sleep. Who needs to be covered? If it's going to rain nothing beats a blue tarp. Strap down the tarp and put a pole up in the middle. On our boat we have a canvas cover and in the middle we have a 3' pole that is used to prop up the middle so rain water runs off. Simple man, why spend the extra green? I will admit I do tend to rough it though.

Here is my photochop of my idea.

Here is the support thing I'm talking about

Here is our camp, a little redneck but the tarp is propped with a large stick

No that really isn't my camp, I found the picture on the net.

I got a truck tent for Christmas, set it up but haven't used it yet. It went up pretty easy and seems like it will work great. I think it was 195 or something but I've seen the older models on eay for something like 145.
