Does anyone know if you can swap a 2000 ford ranger manual transmission in to a 2006 and if so what will I need to do so as far as electronics. I know the transmission will bolt to the motor

No, in 2001 Ford added an OSS(output shaft speed) sensor to ALL transmissions in Rangers, manual or automatic, 2WD or 4WD
The computer in a 2001-2011 Ranger needs that sensor for speed and speed output to speedometer and cruise control

Yes, manual transmission needs to match engine displacement(size) or it won't bolt up to engine
Manual transmission model is M5OD-R1 but its JUST a model number not what it fits or works with

You need a manual transmission from a matching engine size and matching drivetrain, i.e. 2WD or 4WD, AND it needs to be from a 2001-2011 Ranger or Mazda B-series, to work in a 2006 Ranger
