Transmission help!!

Yes, that will work
1995 has a 4R55E, 2002 has a 5R55E which are the same transmissions, the 2002 5R55E has a couple of extra sensors on the outside that you won't use/need, ISS and OSS
It will act like a 4-speed, not a 5-speed because 1995 computer doesn't have the software to turn on the OD when in 1st gear to get a Faux 2nd gear the 5R has
So no difference as far as how it drives
Your speed signal will still come from transfer case's VSS, so you need to use that transfer case on the new transmission, 2002 transfer case won't have that
Not that it matters to you, but you can't go the other way, 1995-2000 automatic in a 2001 and up Ranger, because of the missing sensors, ISS and OSS, on the earlier transmissions
