I bought Firestone Destination AT and a good friend bought the Cooper Discoverer AT3. Of course the Firestone is not as much an aggressively offroad tire but both do great in snow and on the highway. For off road and especially in mud the Coopers win hands down but at around 15K miles on each the Firestones seem like they'll last longer. Neither of us have 4WD so the AT3's are a bit of a waste but the AT3 look great.

most cooper tires have the snow flake on the sidewall meaning good in snow how ever they are softer rubber compounds there for won't last as long in mileage but are very good tires

I just put new Cooper discoverey HT on my ranger,245/75/16,I looked at the at3 but it's a little to aggressive for hiway and mild off road,I have had 3 sets of ht s over the years and they are awesome on hiway and in snow,in 4 wheel drive, just my input, I like Cooper

I agree, the cooper AT3 looks tough and aggressive, better for vehicle owners who actually do some offroading. Worth it if you do mild trailing now and then. I've used Firestone and it works good on wet roads and on snow.

I've run the Firestone Destination AT's for a few years, and never got the winter performance out of them that I wanted. Even after the truck was loaded for winter, they didn't have the performance that I wanted. I finally broke down and threw some good winter tires on, and I'd never go back (for winter only). The Firestone's are great for highway and dirt though.
