Time For New Brake Pads - Suggestions?
Well my front brakes are shot so I need some new pads. What does everyone recommend?
My biggest concerns in order are:
1) Stopping time
2) Longevity
3) Price
I don't plan to cheap out on the breaks. Price isn't much of a concern if it isn't crazy and prevents me from rear ending someone.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I hear the hawk pad name being thrown around on the board... I found three different kinds for my truck... any recommendations?

Well, the dealership wants $180 for the cheap pads or $220 for the others installed. I sure as heck don't want to pay that price. I have no idea how to change the brakes, do you? It can't be THAT hard.. If so let me know when your going to get some pads and I'll drive to your house and lets change some pads. The dealership says I have about 1mm and have about 1,000 miles left so I'm hoping to do this real soon.

I have Hawk HPS pads with powerslot rotors on my truck and Im very impressed, they are quiet, strong, and no dust! they basicaly got my stoping distance back to where it was stock. bob has both the 2003+ pads and 2002 back.

This summer I put the hawk ceramic pads (all 4 corners) on my caddy. I must say I'm very impressed with them! They are better than the OEM ceramics that came with the car. They do dust.. but it's only 25% of what the OEMs did. Very little IMO.
One thing to make sure to do though!!! Make sure to follow the bed in proceedure just as it states on the box. Do that and you'll love them. I promise.
When my ranger needs a set.. this is the route I'll be going for sure.

I have wagner upgraded metalic and replacement ceramic rotors...I can't complain. It was about 1/4 of the price as the hawk upgrade kit...and it does the same job. I really like the wagners...I put them on all the vehicles I do brakes to...they just are a quality pad at a great price.
Kevoo has the hawks, they are great, they stop good...but way overpriced IMO for brakes

I got The EBC Greenstuff 7000 4x4 break pads. They work great and hardly dust compared to oem. They are pricey at around $95. Not bad if you do them your self though. I also bought some drilled rotors from stillen. They helped alot and have increased my bake pad life. Worth every penny to stop on a dime. Look great too by the way.
