I'm reposting this in hopes of getting an answer, and not another *****y response...

 

I was going to go out and take my door panel off to verify this, however IIRC there is a disconnect inside the door itself....I'm not sure however if that disconnect includes the PW/PL/Power mirrors/dome, dinger/stereo wires or not....I think Ill go and investigate this yet today.

 

Jey (034x4) cut the wires and added those wire quick disconnects you can buy at radioshack. Ask him

 

mine already has a disconnect....i think. when i get home in 1.5 weeks i will check and then take the door off

I know summit Racing makes these quick-disconnect-type-wire-splicer-things I'll see if I can find them...

 

jus buy at radio schack dude..they cost like 7 cents each.

 

I don't have power windows and locks... just speakers, so how many wires are in my doors???

 

yours like mine has only the speaker wires to disconnect and the dome button

looks like it should work now you have to figure out how to mod the dome light button for when the door is off

 

haha...new plan.... im gonna spray some sound deadener in my doors and ill check on the wires for ya, but i imagine your gonna have 2 for the speaker, 2 for the dome, and if you have power mirrors probably 2 more....I have a crap ton cause of the keyless, PW, PM,PL, SPK, dome, dinger...its alot so im hoping that im already equiped....Ill let you know

 

On 98+ (maybe some prior years IDK) the dinger is part of the latch its self...no plunger style switch

 

oh ok then i have to figure that out

 

if there is a power and ground wire for the dinger, then you put a simple switch there to turn it on and off... If you have the doors on--> "on", if you have the doors off--> "off"

Of course, saying I put a switch in and actually putting a switch in are two totally different ballgames.

Well, I just looked at the door and all I see is the rubber boot to cover the wires.

 

Yeah, I just ran and got some rubber undercoating that im going to use to deaden the rattles in my doors.....ill take a peek at the inside of the boot of the door....i poke around on the frame side of that boot and only managed to see a bunch of wires...sooooo.....ill take a look when i spray my doors!

I found it....in the only place i didnt look......right next to my truck....

Ok....so i hate to inform you, but there is no quick disconects on my truck...so i doubt that there are any on yours....my drivers side has 16 wires in its loom and my passanger side has 13 wires in its loom....i was gonna take the kick panels off to see if maybe i missed a disconnect that was hiding there, but i have a massive head ache from that deadener....so i said fawk it and went back inside.

 

Well, I guess I'll just have to get in there and look... I think Brenton (Edge_wannabe) said his had the disconnects... I'll pm him and w/e...

 

keep me informed, cause maybe i missed em....i really didnt dig any further than just looking and feeling for em...

 

Well, I found out that the law in FL is that you don't have to have doors, but you have to have 1 rearview mirror...
