Should be able to do it seeing you have all the parts.

Only thing that comes to mind is, I think the 99 has 2 park/turn bulbs on each front corner under the headlight.

The 01 has just one built in to the headlight assembly.

Just a heads up

LMC truck is a good place to get parts but also a good place to check what year parts are compatible

https://www.lmctruck.com/

Use "Vehicle selector" and enter in your year and Ford, and Ranger and chassis(2wd or 4x4)
Then select
Chose what parts you are looking for and it will give you price and years it will fit

1998-2003 on body parts, but looks like grills are 1998-2000 and 2001-2003 so a bit different

Something I don't see on the website is; someone told me the entire bed could be swapped out with just 6 bolts for several years. Is this something you can confirm?

Yes, 1993 to 2011 6ft beds are interchangeable, not 7ft, need a different rear frame for that one

Yes, up to about 2006 there were just the 6 bolts, then two more were added but................the same spacing for original 6 holes, so doesn't really matter, lol

There were two models of 6ft beds
Style side, wheel wells in the bed
Flare side(step side), wheel wells outside the bed

These are interchangeable as well, but.................you need a different filler tube, and different tail gate and bumper for the narrower Flare side

You want to keep your tail lights and wiring, they will fit into any bed above
Ford changed from 3 wire to 2 wire tail light wiring in 2000
1993-1999 used 3-wire, 2000-2011 used 2-wire
So you can use a 1997 bed on a 2003 truck but 1997 tail lights will not be plug and play to 2003 harness, and visa versa
