Where are you recording the noise? Can you record it stopping?

Well I had the above going on last weekend. After having someone else look at it, we decided that if the ac wasn't running then the pulley and belt worked fine, and we aren't having the ac replaced. But now we have the loud noise and the occasional smell of burning.

If that smoke is coming from the pulley, it looks like the clutch is buggered, you'll probably have to replace it.

Yea, it started smoking again this morning. So even if I don't run the ac (which I haven't) it's still going to cause problems....sigh....

My dad and brother gonna change the belt out with one that bypasses the ac. Hopefully that'll get me another 6 months out of the truck before I get a new one. thanks!

Yeah, that'll work fine then, obviously no AC, but it'll stop all this mess.
