should I be worried about this?

i dont know when i changed my oil i had this prblm with the CAP and the CAP only my oil was perfectly fine. and his symptoms are almost identical to mine wet weather plus i drive through this huge *** puddle all the time behind my work. i also only drive 4 miles to get to my job which ends up being a 5 min drive if even that. I also am not leaking any coolant or anything like that so im hoping for myself and him that its just the wet weather.

I have the same problem, mines not nearly as bad as the pictures, just a little bit on the cap, the dip stick was perfectly fine. I use motorcraft 5w-30 oil. What I think it is tho is that highs for the temp have only been in single digits and lows near -25 haha, and my truck barely ever gets the chance to warm up.

if you have a blown head gasket, you should be putting compression in the radiatior. There is a tool i got that you take off your radiatior cap, start your motor and if there is compression the fluid will turn white. It cost me 100 bucks. I would look for one of those. My old 84 bronco had the same problem, and i used it to find out i had a blown gasket. I hope this helps

Good gracious people calm down! its not that big of a deal and it happens to a lot of cars this time of year.
Read this:

Moral is maintain you PCV system and Don't drive 1 mile and shut the car off all the time. make sure it reaches operating temperature for a time once and a while.

Everyone's freaking out. Its normal. Just wipe it off. And next time you do an oil change just look at the oil and make sure its not funky looking. If you want for safe measure just pull the dipstick and confirm its not milky.
Hm, thats funny, I haven't seen it on my Chevy yet, saw it on the Ranger a few times though.

changed my oil after i noticed this, and i wiped the cap off, checked the radiator is was empty so i filled it up ,started the truck it ran like crap and that milky looking stuff was shooting out the pcv i think(the hose running from the intake to the mannifold is the pcv?)shut the truck off looked at the radiator overflow tank is had some milky stuff in,took the cap of the radiator and it was the same milky stuff shooting the the pcv, so what is wrong? thanks

The 305 in my Sierra has/does this, but it actually is a sludge & headgasket issue. No coolant or milky substance in the oil, but it smokes white in the cold like a Mack, drinks coolant, has low power and fuel economy and has white residue on the Oil Fill cap(combination of water vapour & other fluid's residue during evaporation).

you can get a "head gasket set" it normally comes with everything you'll need. like the intake gaskets and stuff. I would recommend replacing the crank and cam seal while you have it all torn apart even.

You do not need head gaskets. This is normal condensation caused in the winter time from short drives. You should at least change your oil to be sure before you spend a few hundred dollars changing head gaskets. I have new head gaskets and still have the same problem.
