Should I trade my truck in?

Should I trade my truck in?
I currently have a 2002 Ranger Edge Plus 4x2 with the 3.slow. It also have an 8.8" rearend stuffed with 4.10 gears non limited slip. It is also Bright Red. It has 41900 miles on it. Styleside Bed. What I want to trade it in on is a 2002 Ranger Edge 4x4 with the 4.0 SOHC. It has a 8.8" rearend with a 4.10 LIMITED slip. It has 64,000 miles on it, has a tonneau cover and a flareside bed. Black. It is $3500 more than what I paid for mine so I'm curious to what the dealer says.

it all depends on what your wants and needs are. how's the weather over there? i knew i wouldnt get a truck unless it was 4x4 for the winters. the truck you might trade in for sounds exactly like mine, just a year newer, lol. either way, pick which ever you'd be happiest with. go and see the dealer, ask them what they'd be able to do for you to keep the price close to the same as what you've got now. good luck!

Are you just looking for more power, or do you want the 4x4?
If it is just more power and gears then swap the gears and put on a whipple.
If you want another truck then sell your PP that will get you the most money. then go buy a 4x4 your want. If possible save up for an '03 fx4 lvl with a manual xfer case if that is something you want. if you are going to go 4x4, then go all the way.

I say if you can afford it do it, trust me I have been thinking about it myself. And I agree with Harry, if you are gonna go 4x4 go all the way.

Don't forget to get a insurance quote too, 4X4's should cost you more, how much depends on which blood sucking insurance vampire you have...
Gas will probably be the same if not worse. Power will obviously be better. Limited slip isn't all that, unless you have a really heavy foot, or occasionally deal with the occasional puddles/mud/ice.
But with the rebates out there now, you are gonna probably take a huge hit on trade in. You could probably get a new truck for just a little bit more, and new vehicles will get better interest rates.
