your going to lose out on more money then what you gain out of it. You probably easily have 3K or so in mods on that thing. So tack that onto the 7k you owe and thats 10k minus 8500 and that leaves 1500 your losing out on. To me it sounds like its going to put you in more of a bind then anything.

Seriously....sell your truck and have no for sure ride to work. Which then leads to missing work.....Which also means not paying anything off. If its your only ride you would be dumb to get rid of it.

you could sell the truck for 8500, pay off the $4000 loan and leaves you 4500 for another vehicle. buy another used truck

Yea its a tough decision, but 8500 is way more than the truck is actually worth.

Don't do it. Like others have said you'll miss it terribly and you won't have a way in to work which will cause more problems. Keep it and just work on paying off the loan. You'll gain more troubles if you sell it than if you just keep it.

kbb on my truck is 8-8500.... so no, its not way more than the truck is worth..

I honestly think i will keep It.. I dont want the headache of not having a vehicle, i will be able to pay if off next year, and then i will be able to afford to get a f150 as well..

yeah i agree with you guys.. I think even if i were to sell it and get into a new f150 i would miss it.. I think i will keep it, get deployed, pay it off, then use it as a trail rig

KBB doesn't mean jack. I don't care what value someone puts on your vehicle, it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

In this case, the guy offering you $8,500 is a complete Idiot (Yes, with a capital "I") because no way in hell would I pay that much for a 9 year old truck (regardless of miles).

The only way i'd ever sell my truck is if I had another form of transformation.

$8,500 pays off your loan and part of another. Then how are you going to get another vehicle to drive, and hope it's reliable?

Definately not worth the trouble...

either way you look at it you will be in debt. you sell the truck, get 1500 dollars to help pay off a 4k dollar loan and now you have no vehicle. You do this to for a couple months and pay off the 4k loan. Now you need a car to get around and to work everyday, You buy one but you dont have the money for it so you take out a loan. BAM, back in debt. No matter how you look at it, you will always be in debt no matter what. sucks but thats life

ya good choice on keeping the truck.. it sucks not having any wheels..

i got 2 trucks, one is a 88' S15 needs a bell housing, wipers etc (its for sale) and the other is my 93 ranger, is driveable.. both have no insurance.. hell i had to pay the neighbour 5 bucks to give me a ride 3kms to the store to grab a case of brewski's... i've driven all over hells acres for him though with the ranger to pick up crap that he bought so it was payback!!

now onto the topic.. i paid $6100 canadian for my 93 ranger XLT 4x4 with 233,800kms. it was the cheapest one i could find that was in decent shape.. but i was in a bind also, i had an 89 sundance and 3 days before i got the truck the tranny blew so i had no wheels. my mom drove me to work for a few days, then i grabbed the greyhound and paid and drove the truck home.
