Scangauge Owners In Here. TPS Reading

So i noticed that when I push the gas to the floor the TPS reading on my scanqauge only goes up to about 92%. I'm curious to see what everyone's goes to.

theres a thread on the site somewhere ill go find it after my next class for you.. but what happens is after years of use your throttle cable gets stretched and there slack in the gas pedal so if yo follow your gas pedal up under the dash you will find the cable pull the pedal tward the seat so u see the slack and put a zip tie or 2 or 3 around the slack so that instead of the slack being fed through the zipties hold the cable and you get like 10-20% more gas pedal :D i did it and notice a huge diff it was like add 20 hp or more for me.

mine was short of 100%. I had my wife hold the pedal down and I checked the TB. It was fully opened.

Christian mine does the same thing I've seen 92-93 tops with the pedal to the floor and the engine wide open. I'm gonna see if the throttle cable mod will do anything to it. I wondered the same thing myself, good thread.

Haha wow this mod doesnt add any horsepower it just lets you use the full power of your engine.

what is a scangauge? I looked it up online and came up with this scangauge?

I was just curious how you can tell what percentage your throttle plate is opened.

BTW I did that zip-tie thing on my truck years ago and I loved how sensative my throttle is.

That's the one. All it does is read what the TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) is saying.

I guess that is the voltage the TPS is sending when it's at 100% throttle.

I just did the throttle cable mod at work. LOL But I don't like the clicking sound I have now when the zip tie slips into the green plastic thing holding the spring. Maybe I put the zip tie too tight. I'll take a look at it this weekend.

Dude...i did this mod AND a throttle bodyspacer ...i must've gained AT LEAST 50hp!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHA. couldn't help it. sorry.

I'll go check out my tps with my scangauge with a spacer (which also takes the slack out of the throttle cable).

He didn't mean literally 20 horsepower guys, geesh. He meant that now that he has more pedal, it SEEMS like he has more power.

Come on.

Well the mod did nothing. Still 92% so i guess that's how it is. It clicks now when I step on the gas as the zip tie slips into the green plastic thing so I will have to do the mod again. I do like the higher pedal. It makes heel toeing a lot easier.
