Good thread for sure.....can't believe I missed it before.
It's very important for sure. I run 34-36 psi in the summer and checking the tire pressure after a good couple days of cold (late fall - early winter) I've noticed a difference of about 10 psi.
Also remember as the weather gets warmer (spring), to watch your tire pressure again as the psi will INCREASE. A 35psi inflation can quickly turn to 45psi.
Tire pressure is your friend, and also your tires worst enemy. <----only on my 1st cup of coffee, and it sounded good.......going for more coffee....LOL

It will even deflate over filled tires to the correct pressure.
Before I left for Tampa (3hr drive) I got all my tires at 28psi and my MPG improved by 1.5 going down from comming up.

Try having a tire blow out while you're doing 65mph and when you go to jack up the car with the stock scissor jack on the side of the road on a soft shoulder, and a semi flies by, blowing the car off the jack and then having to try and lift the car by the fender and pull the jack out, then move the jack further back to raise the car up enough to stick the flat tire under the rocker to keep the car up so you can then put the jack back where it was and then continue jacking the car up.....
....and then pulling out your spare tire just to find it completely deflated, but you're pissed off and put it on anyways drive 15 miles to the nearest service station at 5mph.

The air pressure in my tires never seem to change, I check them every oil change or try to remember anyways, but I can't seem to remember the last time I put air in them, maybe I need a new air pressure gauge lol.
