And, I'm a mechanic, i work at a shop that specializes in German cars, I've talked to 2 of the 3 mechanics there besides me and both say they're good cars.. that and the service manager. they wouldn't let one of their co workers go buy a ****ty car.

If I where buying a car right now it would probably be an Subaru or VW also. Maybe an AWD Milan if the deal was right. I would drive a legacy gt any day if it where a manual, but I just can't stand car really though, slow down for bumps what the fun in that and worrying about taking your bumper off on the curb I would rather just run it over. But with my moms legacy you get upper 20's if not 30 for gas mileage, no matter if ya run 65mph or 90mph....

Ben, if i got a TDI i would for sure make the Branson meet, fuel would be no issue since i could get there and home on like.. a tank? tank and a half?

After 20 people said keep it, one clicked. Pending if i get a 40+hr job, and pending how long the parental units will let me keep driving their car.. i might just get another car, probably still the TDI Jetta.. but that will allow me to put the ranger on jack stands and not HAVE to fix it right away.

GM was doing 0% for 6 years on new cars over the weekend. If I had some cash I would have picked up a G8. I'm sure they will go on sale again though. Yeah yeah is GM. So what?

Yeah. I'm sure their warranty will still be honored though. But either way you can't beat 0% for 6 years. Ford has done it before too. Lady at work got her CC F150 that way.

F150 Raptor...... Right! It will probably be like 50K after dealer markups and crap. Not worth it when you can get a diesel for that much.

You can order them for 38k base right now. Once they get on the lot I bet they'll be marked up like crazy

I'm looking at cars as well. Too many fire roads have made offroading boring for me. Most people in Cali are 2wd or b!tches with their 4wd trucks. I have my quad for offroading so why not get a nice car for my commute to work.

too many fire roads..

roads like this?

there's no telling how the ranger is still kickin it.
The only stuff thats broke is cause of my right foot, i doubt anything would have broke over the last 4 years if it was driven nicely.

Pretty much. Before I had the quad I never took the offshoots when I went offroading with my friends since none of them had 4wd. I did when I went with other RF members but I got tired of breaking my truck so I bought the quad. The quad will go anywhere I want it to go so no need for a truck.
