Quieter mufflers specific questions?
Alright..
looking at a Flow 50 Delta which is supposed to be alot quieter. anyone have it?
now for Gibson, it seems like all they have is super flow? that it.. just different outlet sizes and there all the same sound.. really now this doesnt make sense..
now Borla has a Turbo and a Turbo XL... is one quieter then the other i know Mark(clio) and Beard have dealt with these any response?
now Magnaflow.. seems to have there XL series which seem to be 3 chamber.. any input?

Stone.
HarryTasker has a Flowmaster Delta 50. I had a Flowmaster Super 40. Both had tailpipes. And HarryTasker's was significantly more quiet than mine. His was like....a beefier, louder than stock sound. Rather than my "awesome" imo beefy *** loud sound.
I have Original 40's on my old chevy. My buddy has the same small block chevy in his too, but running Flowmaster Delta 50's. 50's sound GREAT, but with out the loudness of the 40.

Zach, Mike actually has the muffler from my dads F-150, it was a SI/DO Borla Pro-XS - it was longer than the XS i had on the Ranger and gave the 5.4L a very docile sound.
Honestly a straight through muffler is going to give you a "poopy" sound with a 4-banger, i would stick with a chambered muffler if you want that "growl".
If you decide to go with a chambered muffler i would go to a 3-chamber. Edelbrock makes one, Flowmaster 50 series, and the Magnaflow 3-Chamber - would all work.
If you go to a "straight-through" design muffler, be sure to stay in the neighborhood of 16-20" in length. These types of mufflers seem to get louder as they get smaller.
Hope that helps.
