I have looked at those fresh 3.9s on ebay. Very pricey. STL, any advice as to how much a decent motor should go for? Group buy and rebuild for 4BT, lol.

Why dont you just buy a diesel truck, imo that thing is just worthless only 115hp big whoop put a nasty v8 in your ranger and then **** all over that diesel thing. Another thing it does not sound any where near cool it sounds like a damn lame tractor. Sorry im being negative but it really isnt that cool. If he would of put a v8 in it, it would of been alot better.

You want a rebuilt one ready to go? 7K no turbo

You want just the block? couple hundred bucks

You want a old core motor to rebuild? 1-2K But you got to have it machined and buy all the parts for it

I have to agree with some of the people here. Yes, it might be cool but I rather just get a 99-03 F350 Powerstroke and call it good.

Id rather have a gasser, 351, 460 etc. The diesel is cool, but not that cool. I'd rather have the diesel in my tow rig.

I drove a Benz that ran on WVO (waste veggie oil) for a little while and it was a lot of fun. Put this thing in a ranger and run nearly free fuel. Those are my plans. It seems as if everyone has done v8 swaps, nearly as common as mustang wheels on a ranger. Why not be different and fun, and blow some black smoke. Too many people are hung up on the non-turbo HP, that is now what a diesel is about. Now, the 5.9 that would be even cooler, but nothing near as intense as the one in SE FL (miami/west palm beach, ft. Lauder., ect.) with 2 turbos and a supercharger.

Not to be an *** or anything... but Veggie oil doesn't blow black smoke from what I know....

Haha... but yeah I know what your saying. I'm still in love with the Sami that Xtreme4x4 did with the Veggie Oil conversion.

If my ranger was built for only wheeling. Well then I'd just buy a trailer and use my diesel as a tow rig.

No worries, no the veggie oil did not blow black on the 300SD i drove, but under start-up to heat the fuel and motor normal diesel is run and you could easily get your needed cloud of gloom and doom if you wanted, lol.

In the videos it seems like its kind of numb off the line, unless he puts it in a high gear for misquito control, Truck looks good, alot of work into it...The way i look at it, like it or hate it, either way its still coming out of your mouth weather its positive or negative, it leaves an impression either way! At 17 years old ide take that truck and probably wouldnt b**ch about it to much, rip the decals off, put a tailgate on it, and drive it!

Theres a guy in project logs putting a powerstroke v8 in his ranger...

Ranger + Stacks = gay. I don't care if it is a deisel. Needs a 12 or 24 vavle. It don't even sounds right
