Pep-Boys D-Bag...
Ok, so I went to pepboys the other day to look at a set of tires and decided to ask a guy that worked there about them. I said I'm planning on running my truck on trails and using it for reg. driving too. he asks what kind it is and is it 4wd or 2wd...so i tell him its a 2wd ranger and he goes "well considering you have a 2 wheel drive truck u really have NO business driving off road, not to mention it's a ranger and they are definitely not meant to be taken off road." I gave him the most pissed off look and said "oh yea? what do you think is meant for off roading?" and hes like well you DEFINITELY don't wanna use a truck, trucks are horrible, you would need an SUV or a jeep." so at this point i'm like about to punch this bastard in the face, but couldn't resist to ask him "what do you drive?" and his response..."a yukon XL" so again...i couldn't resist to ask..."do you take that piece of crap wheeling?" and his response "yes, it is the best thing to use when off roading, it never fails me, and it's a hell of a lot better than any ranger" so i look dead at him and say..."what the fu*k kinda trails are you driving your fatass through in a fu*king piece of sh*t yukon?" i think he tried to babble something but i told him to go fu*k himself and i'll get my tires elsewhere, and that i will be talking to his manager soon...at that point the fatass starts sweating like crazy and turns beat read...and i was gone before he could get heart attack. lol

My "pepboys" tires tear things up pretty decent. For cheap m/t's that are made by cooper, i got a pretty good bang for buck. Now the other passenger car tires and such I can't speak for. But the m/ts, that I have personally run, and have time run on the truck, are not a junk tire.

Thats nice. I'm a firefighter and I don't go to stores and act like a 5yr old who didn't get his candy. Your an embarrassment to the rest of us for acting like that. Please don't use being a firefighter as an excuse for being stupid.

you might have overreacted, but that guy should have kept his opinion to himself.
"the customer is always right" if he wanted to put the tires on a bettle, it's his perogative. as for the yukon xl, it's too big for most trails and the guy probably only has the ATs he sells and uses them in an open field.
go buy your tires from a better company. pep boys obviously doesn't care about customer service or your money.

Too bad you couldn't get your tires - is/was there another Pep Boys store nearby you could have tried?
BTW, things like that happen at a lot of large chain/national-name stores, i.e. employees that show no public relations/sales skills - I find it just as easy to visit another store/chain, or even go to small specialty stores that are more customer friendly.
FWIW, the other interesting thing about your post - and I think it's part of human nature - is that once the profanity starts, it tends to escalate things, and you end up with both parties ready to "go at it" and not back down.
Think of the difference between telling someone to, "say hello to yourself!" and something like, "go (whatever expletive) youself!" - a huge world of difference, merely because of the choice of words.
Not being judgemental, just commenting on observations about human nature.

Wow. Your more of an *** than I thought. No self-respecting firefighter talks to others like that and brags about their "work". Further proving that you're an embarrassment to the rest of us and need to use your position to feel special. If you're going act like an idiot, do it somewhere else.
