Optima Battery's "Independent Forensics"
#26
In Optimas defense I'm sure they don't have a lot of people that work for them as claim inspectors. Regardless, I'd never dik around a customer who had something of this caliber happen as a possible result of faulty production. I mean Hell, if I was gonna try to weasel out having to pay you because my product killed your truck, I'd be snake charming the bajeebers out of you.
Talk to your lawyer about being reimberssed for income lost due to them taking their time on getting you back into a truck, then have your lawyer talk to them about it, maybe it'll light a fire under their...hoods

I think tomorrow's plan of action is(aside from missing another day of work) is to threaten with the insurance commissioners, contact my state attorney general, contact optima about their lousy independent investigators, then after all that (depending what happens) update my lawyer.
Hopefully after tomorrow I start getting some definitive answers.

Not to say "I told you so", but I think I made mention in your other post that you are considered a "low loss". Take it from someone who has been part of a "few" fire investigations....you are VERY low on their radar screen. And now that your insurance company has totalled your truck (regardless whether they've seen it or not), Optima cares about you even less. They are basically off the hook, unless YOU want to spend the serious $$$$$ to have a truly independent lab go through your truck.
On a side note..I have had State Farm for all my vehicles, motorcycle, and homeowners insurance for almost 20 yrs. They are one of the BEST companies to deal with both as a client and an investigator. I got hit 2 times in the rear with my other truck. One person had Progressive, the other Geiko. BOTH of those companies tried to dick me over by wanting to half-*** repairs on my truck, not provide me a rental (because THEIR client did not have rental insurance on the policy...like that's my problem!!!!), and were just a down right pain to deal with. I called State Farm both times to tell them what was going on. Basically State Farm contacted the other companies and "explained "how things were going to get done. No problems with either of them after that. State Farm has my business for many years to come.

So esurance told me that after 8 days their "forensic team" will be coming to inspect the truck tomorrow. I hope it's alot better than the hawaiin style gereatric that snapped a couple photos yesterday. Then I'll know exactly what did this. If the damage isn't tooooo bad they can tell me tomorrow. If it's worse than what they think(which to me, it is) it might be a few days til I get the results. Me and my agent had a nice long talk today. That was after I called him three times and hour or two apart, leaving voicemails each time. He didn't return my calls, I guess he must have woke up from his nap or something. I think I got my point across to him without being overreactive. Got some more registered mail out to them.
I'm now driving my dad's 82 nova 4-door hatch. lol I look like a jackass driving it. Once these ppl find out whose to blame, I can finally get a rental. I asked my agent about the rental car. He's like "well you didn't opt for that coverage". So I asked him if I totalled someone's car would they get a rental from you guys? "Oh that's different". I said "How so? This wasn't my fault." He immediately changed the subject. What a jerk.

Allstate, Nationwide, and State Farm seem like the most popular as far as clam handling goes. All my friends and family keep saying you should switch to....
One of those three always comes up.
Yes I'm havng a blast, it's like a mini-vacation(if you count all the lost days of work). It's a good thing I'm my own boss or I would have fired me by now lol.
