Optima Battery's "Independent Forensics"

What a f*ckin joke. The ppl old me that they would be there from 7a-11a. Well, 11:30 rolls around so I call them. "Oh, you were suppose to be the first stop, but now you're the last stop." Damn man. It seems like everyone in this entire process has either no clue what they're doing or just doesn't gve a ****.

So they roll down my parents driveway around 4p, five to nine hours late. The two guys get out of the jeep. One pokes his finger around and mumbles about something, then the other shakes his head and takes a picture. Nothing was removed from the engine compartment at all. I thought they'd at least take the damn Optima battery. They were in and out in less than ten minutes. Didn't bother to ask me anything.

At least they showed up, I guess. My insurance company hasn't even seen my truck and it's been a week since this happened. It's suppose to rain tomorrow, all that soot and whatnot is going to be washed away. I guess my insurance company is happy with the pics I sent them. It was declared an "obvious total loss" from my pictures. I haven't heard from my insurance company since Saturday morning. I'm getting fired up again, this is absolutely redculous. Seems I'm the only one that gives a f*ck that I'm out of a vehicle, $20k, taking timeoff work to deal with these jokers, wasting my gas/time getting papers notarized, doing my insurance companies job more or less. I'm going to get in touch with my insurance rep tomorrow. They don't start giving me some answers the ****'s gonna hit the fan. My lawyer is well aware of the situation and I just have to give the word.

Here's some pics of my truck all gutted. Only thing left is the front bumper. I left it on to humor the investigators. It has my PIAA's and wiring so I figured better safe than sorry. Damn impound yard stole my truck and wrote all over it. F*ckers. Not that it matters but damn.

damn, what a joke....thats why i hate insurance companys, pay them monthly, if your late they **** a brick (ive never paid a payment late) but yet when you total your car and need a new one they take forever....If i were you i would go in to your local insurance agency and demand some answers...

Ive learned that when something needs fixed its better to go in person and *****, because if you just call on the phone they dont care....

if they still wont do anything or they say they are "waiting " on something , just tell your lawer and have HIM call them

That optima people are a joke also, what "STOPS" do they have? does this happen daily? If i had to wait all day for them i would have been so pissed....

Hate to see your truck like that Travis. It always looked so good. Shame that some firefighters like to cause more damage than the fire.
Hopefully, you'll get things settled with the insurance company, since I doubt Optima will do anything. Companys like that are always looking for a way out of liability. I've had numerous "Independent Forensics" from makers of faulty equipment; and their story is always the same.

On a slightly off-topic note; you didn't have a Dell laptop under the hood, did ya?

^^^lol nah, I have a compaq laptop

Check the link in the sig.

Yeah I couldn't believe I had to wait arond at my parents house all day. I made sure I was there @ 7a. I thought for sure they'd at least take the stuff out and take pictures at least. The jut took pictures as is. Probably nothing I didn't already take a pcture of. THey said "Yeah we'll forward these to your insurance company" I was like WTF?!?! I'm seriously getting pissed. Not even a phone call to tell me they'd be late. Seems like I have to babysit every who is involved with this process. I'm the one making a hundred phone calls a day. WTF do I pay for insurance for? I'm damn sure I'll be going back to State Farm after this one.

I have plenty of offroad scars on that side of the truck. I'm not scared to use my truck for what it is.....a truck!

I made it known to Optima that hundreds of ppl on several 4x4 sites are very concerned about this. That's when they decided to answer my calls and set up this appt.

I think I'm going to do the same with esurance now. Someone said about contacting the state insurance inspector? What's the official title(too lazy to look through 300 posts) so I can start getting on the phone with them tomorrow. I'd have to go through both states since I'm in Pa. and they're based out of FL.

i find it funny that you even removed your coat hangers from your truck... in all seriousness though the person you would need to contact i believe would be your state's aty general's office... not 100% sure on that but its a start and for future insurance coverage i have progressive and we have had 3 wrecks in the past year (none our fault) with my wife's sentra and they were awesome

I had a deer hit a deer in my 95 escort like five years ago. I was insured by progressive. They wanted to put junkyard parts on my car and give me $100 to put with my $500 deductable. There was $2k in damage. I told them to go f*ck themselves. My car didn't have junkyard parts to begin with and I don't want them on my car. Their job is to get your vehicle back to it's original state. I'm def going with a local company next time. These big companies give you horrible customer service.

sadly it seems that all insurance companies use junkyard parts but not all use them at the same time... if you have progressive and you wreck your new car you will get new parts its only after the car has 36,ooo miles that they use junkyard parts... allstate on the otherhand will put junkyard parts on your new car you wrecked on the way home from the dealership... my brother-in-law works for a auto shop and deals with these clowns all the time and progressive is easiest to dealwith that gave me a good rate... state farm is another good one

Screw a tarp!

I've got the interior dry with the ol garbage bag mod. They haven't seen my truck in the week it's been totalled. They can go f*ck themselves at this point, evidence get's ruined then so be it. They've had plenty of time to send someone out. I'm fully insured and going to get my money out of them reguardless. I've filed a claim with the Pa Insurance office and working on one for the Fl insurance dept. I did a search on google for "Esurance complaints", you guys should check it out. Apparently, I'm not the first to have problems like this. There was a lady who had her suburban totalled and it's been sitting in her driveway for two months. She's been making payments and paying insurance on a totalled vehicle. F*ck that. I'm printing out these similar complaints and going to the state attorney generals office tomorrow. I'm fed up.

I think the correct title of the higher up that you want to speak of is the insurance comissioner. I have had to make a claim in the past and my insurance company didnt want to budge until I made the simple statement "I think I will contact the Insurance comissioner about this"... Your insurance company does NOT want to hear from them. That is a definate way to get the ball rolling and in your court.

I had progressive for 6 years they f-ed me over too. I now have had farmers insurance for 2 years. They are the real deal. If you have any I highly
recommend them. Their agents only sell farmers if they sell anything else.
They eventually get busted and removed. Prices are very good.
And REAL PEOPLE WOW! :) And they arent shiesty either.
I've had 2 glass replacements and 1 accident (my fault sorta)

whoa, that sucks! I know I have had my share of run in's with the insurance company. When I crashed through a telephone pole is my truck a few months old they wanted to use junkyard parts and I said no way. When I rolled my truck (not the same one that I crashed through a telephone pole with) they wanted to use junked parts and I told the dealership nope, you will use new ones. They have no problem with that, but they have to submit a new estimate to the ins co. You figure that you pay hundreds on dollars a month and when you actually need them, they try to take the cheap way out.
