Off Roading Problems

So I go wheelin to a local trail area where I have been 100 times before.I go down the trail following a friends s-10 and we both go through some kinda muddy ruts no problem, right. Well we get to the end, turn around and go to try the hill climb, when all of a sudden its like I hit a rock and both of my passenger side tires are blown. My friend passes no problem and and My BFGs are flat. He has firestone street tires and they are perfect. I walk the trail with a 1 million power spotlight and find nothing but smooth dirt. Does this seem strange to anyone? Has anyone else had a problem with the BFG ATs? Its also upsetting because there are no places open on sundays to fix tires. I think I am getting the Goodyear MTRs next. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?

MTR's are sick tires... but they need to be rotated evey oil change.. not just for life, but to keep them quiet and smooth

I've heard nothing but good thing about the life and toughness of BFG ATs I don't care for their tread pattern and will take my Cooper ST's anyday.

The BFG AT's are great tires -- but the sidewalls aren't real thick. Was it a sidewall fault? It's also possible you got a couple of tires from the same lot with a defect. That happens even with BFG's.

They came on my FX from the factory. I didn't buy them after. And it was actually not a sidewall puncture so I am hoping for the good people at belle tire to patch it.

Whatever it was probably tore into your tires and then was thrown clear -- leaving you nothing to see when you went up the trail. Your buddy was just lucky, most likely.

I think the BFG AT's I had where the best offroad tires ive had. I kinda thought they had 3ply sidewalls, I never blew one, I ran them until the belts where showing. At the time I was broke and bought some General Grabbers, I tore sidewalls out of both front tires in two weeks, they suck. Yokohama AT's are pretty good, I dont think they are as quite as good as BFG off road but have more grip in water and ice. My truck came with goodyear crap and I was patchin them all the time, gave up after like 8 times and bought the yoko's
