Icon10 Need some ideas...

I just got a new job =) My first full time job since i got out of high school , i make pretty good money at it and was thinking about buying me a new ranger. I love my old 3.0 but i really want that extra power a 4.0 can give, and now I have the money to buy my first "Big Thing" on my own (In a about 8-9 weeks when i have some money saved up for a down payment)....But i want to know is what kind of ranger should i look for? I have my xlt now but want something more so for off road and that looks nice and wont take all my newly earned $$......help me out guys.

I see in your sig you already have a decent DD.
If I had to do it all over again I would have saved more money for college.
But that's not what you asked so:
Shop around different dealers (I know , most of them suck and try to screw you) for a later year truck that's been traded in with low mileage.I bought mine with 11K on the meter for 13K and it was 2 years old. And I found it while shopping on the net.
Your payments will be lower than a new truck.
You can use a lower down payment.
Easier for someone in your position to get a vehicle loan.
The truck will still carry some kind of warranty.

But when you go to the dealer (there's that nasty word again) ,take the ol' man with you so they don't try and jerk you around.

Check carmax.com. I got a great deal on a 2004 Supercab xlt 4x4 ranger from them and they do a full inspection and will only sell the cream of the used cars. Even got a 5 year 60000 mile warranty for like 1500.
