My excitement of the week.... F150 Ownage...
So today, my buddy Art calls me up and Asks me how strong I think my truck is... and I ask why (he knows i pulled the boat out with my ranger) - anyways, hes at his gf's moms house pullin tree stumps. Well he has a pretty big stump he cant seem to get moved. Hes got a 1996 F150 2wd inline 6. He constantly teases me bout how 'my truck might grow up one day'
So, I told him, cut all the roots... his reply, he did.
I get over there... half the roots are cut. So I cut the rest with the sawzall. With the neighbors watching, I hook up with my tow strap, set 4wd low. and give it gas.... Dad taught me u dont just pull, cause thats how u break stuff, let the weight of your truck do the work...
well i back up a bit.... and give it a bit of gas and the truck jerks, and theres a loud noise i hit the breaks, the top of the stump, breaks clean off and nails my tailgate... putting a dime sized ding in my tail gate (pics tomarrow).
So, after about 15 min we get the strap off the piece that came off, and it crumbles. strap was holding it together... I jokingly say to the neighbors 'wheres the camera?!'
SO... then we hook up again... rock it afew times, and i pull the stump out... this thing was huge once it was out... well over 200lbs..
in the end. the ranger surprised me once again... so of course I had to tease Art with it... little ranger doesnt need to grow up in order to handle the big stuff....
so ya, thats my excitement of the week.

Ya know, I was chuckling when they always tease about the ranger not being a real truck..
My buddy does that to me all the time.. he is running a big dodge himself, but I constantly amaze him when I get in further, and get out alone then he can do with his "Real Truck". Ford made an awesome combination.. fitting a compact style pickup truck with the 4.0 SOHC was the best thing they coulda done.. enough power to do whatever you need, even towing/hauling
