Inside Info on the NEW Ranger
Well my buddy's dad worked @ ford for 27 years until they closed the plant in hapeville ga where he worked that produced the sable and taurus. well i asked him if he knew anything about another ranger coming out and he said that he test drove the crew-cab model that they have in Australia he said they will not come with the diesel engines but he mentioned something about a v8 engine for it though he said we will probably be seeing the new ranger here in the next year he said and it is definitely a crew-cab and a totally different design..

Next year huh.. Awesome!
But I really dont need a V8 in my truck.. I hardly ever tow and within a year i dont want to even see what gas prices will be like. The 4 banger diesel will sell like pancakes at ihop..
Well have to wait and see. As long as they still have a 3.0 v6, maybe the 2.3 4 banger.. (if toyota can have a crew cab 4 banger, so can ford), 4.0 v6 and a v8. That will be some nice variety.

v8 would be pointless IMO off the show room floor in a Ranger......the 4.0 SOHC has plenty of power and fuel economy......
we haven't seen it because it aint gonna happen......if it was gonna happen next year it would have already hit the auto shows.......because it would be making its showroom appearance any time now...

oh joy IRS... I have nothing against it for other vehicles, but I personally enjoy my solid axle in the back. Just my preferance.
Heres the thing though, if Ford puts a V8 in the ranger and makes it a crew cab. I believe that may potentially hurt F-150 sales.... Especially if the ranger can tow roughly the same as the F-150. We all know Ford does not want to hurt their F-150 sales. So im sort of doubting the V8. It would be a interesting option, but if I want a V8 ill just move up the the F-150.

3.5? Why would they do that? The 3.5 is like 265hp, yet they keep the 4.0?
Your facts are all over the place... I'm not raggin on yeah but I just dont see much of this being true...
FORD will not just pop the truck out of no where redesigned and ready to be sold in the dealers.
You will hear more facts from the FORD website or FORD news if and when it will happen.

I have no interest in a four door and a V8, I want them to bring back a 4cyl 4X4 std. cab, I'd be the first in line if they brought back that combo. 2010 the time I plan on getting a new truck (Mine will be 9 years old)
If Ford is smart, the 2010 Ranger.....will have an optional Hybrid engine. the first mid-size pickup with a Hybrid engine. I'd buy one of those. they could use the same engine in the Escape Hybrid. and develop a V6 hybrid. There will be a lot of people waiting in line to buy one if Ford decides to build it.
