That's not a Ford oval, it's a "European" sidemarker light.

i'm not talkin about the marker under the Ranger emblem. there's what looks to be a small blue ford oval on the corner of the bumper

With almost 300tq it would be a monster off the line, if you put a programmer on it you might get another 50-75hp/tq being how diesels seem to work!

Damn I'd buy two. That'd solve my issue of wanting more power and more people-carrying without buying a huge truck for sure.

Did someone say diesel? Hell of an idea.

I don't know about having more passenger space - I think the quad cab looks a little silly in that picture. The fender flares and moulded bumpers make it look too plasticky to be honest. Too much like an Avalanche.

But putting a 3L diesel in a Ranger is a good idea. Can only hope it crosses the pond and gets adopted Ford in North America.

Cheers,
D.

will not pass US emissions, so no diesel in a ranger (nor is there a big market for a small diesel P/U in this country). And they will not do the 4 door or it would compete with the Sportrac.

From what my friend told me (he works at Ford), the word is that the new US Ranger will be based on the South American Ranger. He said they actually have a bunch of the South American ones in Dearborn at the test track right now.

why not take the explore sport trac put the 4.5 powerstoke in it and beef up the suspension and sell it in the dakota midsize class.
