Also makes Durapuke and Cummin's owners traiters too... only thing the purists would like are the '11 strokers.

Which by the way...I finally heard one of those on the street and in a parking lot.... HOLY COW I could barely tell it was running. Them 6.7's are QUIET AS HELL!!

It's 1:30 AM here, give me a break, I put more effort into punctuation and grammar than half the members here.

That was a creepy fast reponse by the way.

EDIT -

From the clips I've heard on PowerstrokeNation, they don't sound good, at all, straight-piped.

It's probably like 95% of all videos online.... just a rough estimate of the actual sound in person. But I've not heard one with anything done to it but a canopy yet. And I was very surprised in it's quietness.

EDIT: 95% of vehicle videos. 95% of all videos online involve a naked lady.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Ford own part of cummins?

I heard that a few years ago.

honestly, I heard the same thing
but in the past couple of years, Ford has been downsizing like mad, so its quite possible they sold off what part of cummins they owned.

instead of dropping one of these into your ranger, for the same amount of money you could just purchase a Diesel crew cab from Mexico and bring it to the states.

Ford used to own a few shares of Cummins, that's it. No more no less.

Yeah, in about 1995 when they had the Heavy truck division, just so they could be on the board. I don't understand why everyone thinks that. Lifted 2wds are gay and Diesel can be used for things other then towing.

exactly
Ive considered either putting a diesel into my ranger or going the other route I mentioned above purely for the gas mileage.
if I could get my ranger up into the mid 30mpg range (hwy) Id never get rid of it.

I'm throwing my 2cents in here. fords a great company, dodge is a great company but when it comes down to the two of them and their diesels, id rather be cumming then stroking. IMO

The only thing that makes the Dodge an option to most people is the Cummins.

Funny enough, the smoky fuel pin that fits in a 6BT, also fits a Jetta, ask me how I noes...

And whats wrong with cross breading? Take the best from both worlds. I love a cummins, but hate a dodge. Like my ford, but the motor blows chunks.

My F-350 will more then likely get a 5.9 when the 7.3 dies. Maybe a Common rail...since I have another truck and only need time to sort out the wiring.

The 5.9 isb has injection pump problems and they are not cheap, the common rail has a ton more power. I think the most realiable is the older cummins 12v 5.9. On the common rail you cant argue with 330hp and 600ft tq stock lol. Throw on a edge programmer and it is easily 400hp and 700+ ft lbs. That 7.3l ford is the best engine they ever had, too bad they changed it to that ****ty 6.0, a cummins in a ford= problem solved.

It would have an upgraded CP3 on it anyways. I like the 12v's, but also like the electronic controlled ISB's. Maybe with twins on it??!? Great, now I'm going to have to spend countless hours searching craiglist for a deal

Cummins is not cross breeding because it is a separate company sure dodge uses them most but they are a vendor. they supply parts, not build cars.

Then you will LOVE my gear guys truck.... '88ish F350 with like a 6" kit and 35's on it. Used to have the IDI 7.3 in it....now has the NV4500(i believe) and a 6BT with some mods. OH MY GOSH it's super nice and he did it's shake down run last week from Boring to Wyoming. Loaded with gear, pulled 18mpg going 85 in 5th the whole time. 4.10's may be a little much for the truck now. lol.
