I might be getting a ticket?

What's up everybody-

so today after playing disk golf I took my ranger down behind the coarse and behind the park that's also there though an open gate and onto a dirt road that leads to some dirt jumps for bikes. I was drifting the corners and crawling on some small rocks and then decided to leave. On my way out a park host blocked me in and took down my license plate number and said he was reporting me for tresspassing and vandalism because I was out there driving. There were no sighns saying I couldn't be out there. What's the worst that can happen when/if he reports me? What do the police usually do? Am I getting panicked over nothing? Any answers will be apritiated.

Park it in the driveway and take the plate off it. I dunno about CA, but in MI, Officers have to see you commit a crime to ticket you for it. they may right you for a ticket, but its not like they're gonna take your truck away.

that may be illegal for that owner to block that gate. in Calif, that's a no no...if ya wanna pursue this, call local PD and tell the truthful story and you get his vehicle info to the police.......sometimes, best defense is a good offense.
good luck

where i live you can call the cops and rat someone out for it but all the cops can do is stop by your house or give you a call telling you to be a good boy and not do that again

haha yeah thats pretty much it, and yes at least in PA you can't block gates because of emergency vehicles that may have to get in, and if the owner didn't have any signs up saying you can't go back there then thats his fault that you were back there

Just because there are not any no trespassing signs doesn't mean its not private property. I would be surprised if anything came of it though.

hey same thing happened to me in my truck. but im in fl.
i did things a little different but got in no trouble.

we got a place call errol where i live rich *** people live there and own the stuff. me and a few friends went in the dried up lake when they closed the gates on us. the guy came to us on a golf cart and told us we were traspassing. (no signs or anything) but he told us the cops where on the way and that we couldnt leave. so we waited for about 10min for him to turn his back, fired but the rangers and ran the gate over and left. about a week later a cop shows up at my house and asked about the stuff, told him i was out with my friends that night having a bonfire. all my friends said the same thing. (if they ask, say you were somewhere else. and have someone to back you up for it. 2 against one.) anyway. the cop then asked if we knew this guy and we all said ya. he was the one that yelled at us for having our music too loud. lol
no problems after that. and we still mud in that same dyed up lake

Yea i was going to say since when is it ok to trespass on private property? So you guys are saying since you dont have signs on your houses saying keep out then people can just come in when ever you want? If it was my land and i found you on it doing that (in missouri) you wouldnt have left untill the police took you away.

of course its different from state to state, but in va, in order to be charged for tresspassing you either have to have a bunch of no tresspassing signs or tell the person to leave (and if they dont, then they will be charged).

Yeah I mean he can only swear out a warrant if he is the owner or authorized by the owner to do so. Also not sure how it works in CA but there has to be a posted sign up in order for them to arrest for trespassing or you have to be told to leave and then you dont leave. thats the only way. Also License Plate doesnt prove anything. he would have to have your name cause all you have to say is that someone borrowed your truck and there ya go case is shot. He doesnt have anything to prove you were there.
