Hurst shifter specs question
Hi everybody! first time poster, longtime forum stalker
I have a question for someone with a Hurst shifter (The flat bar into round taper type). Could you tell me how thick and how wide the shifter is around the point where it sits in the slit of the boot? I'm blacksmithing a version of my own but I do want it to fit well in a Super Boot. If anyone could help me out hopefully I'll have some eye candy to share.

Do you have a picture of specifically what you need measured? Or a more detailed description of what you're after? I'm a little confused as to which piece you need measured.
One is telling me the rubber boot in the floor that needs cut so the Hurst pivot sticks through it. The other is telling me the shifter boot(what you see in the car) that the actual shift arm sticks through.
EDIT: Re-read and now I understand.
The Hurst shift arm where the boot "rests" is approx 1/4" thick and 7/8" wide. Precise measurement is difficult as the stock is more of an oval on the 1/4" thickness edge. Plus I can't find my calipers. haha.
The Hurst boot hole for the shifter is approx 3/8" by 7/8". This measurement is off a not beat-to-hell boot, but also not a brand new one either...no cuts.
Some things to keep in mind.....Hurst arm mounting holes are 7/8" on-center and 3/8" holes. Ball thread is 3/8-16.
So you're making your own Hurst-like shift arm?? Cool! What're your ideas?
And for reference....measurements off my truck that's currently half taken apart around the shifter. Stock Hurst Ranger arm and the boot it comes with...

Awesome thanks for the quick help.
I'm pretty much going to copy this one pounded out of 3/4" square stock. After it exits the boot It will thicken back out and do a short candy cane twist to a round taper. Feels like I'm describing a roller coaster lol. I'm gonna leave it raw/pounded and seal it with Penetrol. I made an olive wood **** but I also like this one. Ivory Old Skool Series Custom Shift **** Opaque « americanshifter.com
Here's an idea if you don't want to use the factory plastic cup holder design. It covers the restraint module and just bolts on the side of shelf holding up said module. You just need to drill a hole and tap it. Or if anyone's interested in buying mine cause I miss my cup holders.

Cool deal! Roller coaster? I was thinking about Christmas and a Peppermint White Mocha while reading the description! lol. And not a problem man.
Now do you already have a Hurst shifter in the truck? My Hurst arm mounting info only covers Hurst shifter bases....stock shifters are completely different at the base and cast steel.
