K&N says that you can go up to 50,000miles before cleaning is required. Remember that is under normal drving conditions. I have been running K&N on all my pickups since I could drive. My rule is that if it looks dirty, clean it.

I change mine twice a year. In the spring after the farmers finished planting and in the fall after they are done picking the crops. Thats the only problem having farm fields all around you everything gets dusty really fast when they are out working in them.

 

I buy like $6.00 Motomaster ones, cause I live in the country I change mine about every 6,000Kms, or 12 weeks or so. By 10 weeks I can't usually clean it anymore.

 

i take mine out every oil change and bang it out to get the minor dirt out then put it back in

 

I replace mine every third oil change (15,000 miles)

 

well.. the k&n was added the day after the truck was bought brand new 8 years ago. i and at least get the loose dirt out every other oil change... and its been oiled every couple years
