X2. I am selling my ranger (because I hate it) but my 94 f-150 gets about 11.5 MPG, my 95 will get about 15. Both are bought and paid for. I'll never surrender to a car...NEVER.

I was in a situation where I was offered more than what I paid for my most recent truck, so I already made the switch to a corolla (EPA combined = 30mpg) for a daily driver and use my parent's minivan on the weekends (and occasionally during the week) for truck duty:
let's face it though; the issue of gas mileage is NOT about being reverent to the environment for truck guys...it's just about cost.
And since most truck guys like their trucks more than other things in life, I'm willing to bet if gas prices keep going up, truck guys will stop doing those other things (ie. taking your g/f out to dinner) just so you can allocate more money towards driving your beloved pickup

i drive 70 miles a day roundtrip for work. that doesnt count the driving i do for parts running during the day. i average 300 miles a tank. and thats with bad cats and o2 sensors. gas here in norcal is already over $4.10/gallon in most places as i only run 89 octane at minimum. thats over $70 to fill up. twice a week most the time. so yes, ive made the decision to register my autocross honda for the road to start driving that every other day. that gets well over 40 miles per gallon and drives like a go kart. but im not selling my truck. i wouldnt even get close to what its worth anyway. but that also means no driving the el camino around, not at 4-6 miles per gallon. ah well, its still good for 12 sec. in the 1/4
