not sure when you got your tags done, the state of FL increased reg/tags last Sept by 23%

they increased "new to the state" vehicle registration by quite a bit more, something like 135%, before it would have cost about $200.0 and now it would cost over $500.0.

BS. I still pay a **** ton of taxes in KY, plus city and county tax, plus 6% sales tax. I paid $260 for each car, for one year only.
I pay more taxes overall here than I did in Oregon.

Plates Fee
Private Passenger Vehicles $28.00
Private Truck Under 4,000 lbs $28.00
Private Truck Under 5,000 lbs $43.50
Private Truck Under 6,000 lbs $51.60

Yeah I have to pay for under 6000 and then that gay authority registration tax, whatever the **** that is

Well the title fee ad state taxes on this cost me $230 in Feb when I bought the truck. Then when my Temp ran out I paid another $70 for the plates.

$24 year no matter what year the car is............

I personally run DESERT STORM tags and the first year is $1 more for the tag and then the normal $24 after that. I had to let them make a copy of my DD214 to prove I was eligible.

Property taxes: $208 city / $290 county = $498 yr.
Sales tax: 9.25%
NO STATE INCOME TAX!

how can a state make money when plates are just $36 and are good for life?
no wonder states are going broke.

Minnesota charges tab/plate fees the way it should be done: by year of the vehicle, Type of vehicle, Vehicle engine size, Vehicles cost (when new)
so a brand new Bentley's tabs are around $1000+ and a brand new KIA Sedona is like $150. why? because the state feels that if you can afford to drive it, you can afford the tab fee's. Rich people get no special privledges !

I think my personalized plates were around $240 to buy them then it's $74 for one year or $148 for two. All you save by getting two years is the $10 administration fee and the government gets your money earlier!
