How long do you plan to keep your ranger?
Me, I plan to feep it till I tow it to the bone yard. I have seriously, and I mean SERIOUSLY like to the point of filling out the paper work at the chevy dealer and trading it for a 2010 camaro.
then backed out.
I realised, that while my truck, maynot be one bad *** sports car (the camaro) it does EVERYTHING I want it to and more. Every single thing, I have asked my ranger to do, it has done, and then some. Many people told me that there was NO WAY my ranger would pull my dads 28ft sea ray off the lawn, thruogh the mud and onto the drive way. it did.
Everyone said there was no way my truck could handle 3,000lbs of bricks in the bed... it did.
People told me my truck was too small to pull out 40year old bushes. it did.
People told me there is absolutely no way my truck would pull a 4ft long, 10in diameter concrete piling out of the ground...
It did.
Garbage picking is ALOT easier with the ranger.
I can go mudding and recscue friends who get stuck in ponds...
My ranger, has literally done everything I have ever asked it to do. It always starts, gets 'ok' mpg, has decent overall performance... I cant see when actually evaluating the truck, getting rid of it. it IS the 'mover' of my household. With out, I could never have gotten 14 loads of topsoil this summer... for the price I paid - $16 a load. Id be hard pressed to fit a cord of wood into the camaro... and I have no qualms about taking the ranger out in the snow, infact look forward to it...
Because of all that, even though i was insanely close to turning in the truck, I could not bring myself to do it. Plus, my dad picked out the ranger and talked me into it, so it has some sentimental value as well.
I have driven F150's Had one for 10 days... while I loved the spaciuos room I couldnt wait to get back to my ranger after it was at the docs...
I found F150's a ***** to park...
So far I have had the ranger for 5 years, 2 months,. and 20 days... I hope to get another ten years out of it.
then backed out.

me.. until i pay it off.. then either get a newer (03+) ranger or an f150 or an f350.. dad and went to alberta this past saturday and we took his 93 F350 1 ton dually diesel and let me tell you its NOT fun driving around in town..especially in airdrie the roads are sooo dinky and narrow its ridiculous, its like threading a needle half blind.. so after doing that im not getting a dually..
but i do want a bigger truck, or settle for a newer ranger..

i dont plan on getting rid of it. to much sentimental value.. once i get out of college. and get a job im getting a bigger truck no doubt about.but ill always have the ranger.. i mean it may end up sitting in the garage and not be a daily driver at some point but oh well. ill have it forever.. unless its damaged beyond any reasonable repair.
