First thoughts of my new spec stage 2 clutch
I had a lot of people asking what I thought of the clutch. Well I got the truck back Saturday afternoon. I drove it up the 250ish miles up to Gettysburg PA and back. It is by far better then stock but I sort of think the way the guy at clutch-express talked it up it would be better.
Well that was what I was expecting but what I got is an excellent clutch it clamps down harder sooner/faster. The pedal is way way firmer(not as firm as i thought it would be). If I had smaller tires or bigger gears(on order) this clutch would be great for hard launches from stock HP. I would think this would be great for burn outs again if I had smaller tires or bigger gears(on order).
It is defiantly going to be better for towing the camper around.
I was sort of expecting it to be more like the clutch in my cobra where my wife almost needs both feet to push the clutch in, well not really but it takes a lot of force to push it in. That was what I was expecting and I think in order to get that much clamping force the stage 3 or higher is needed. Maybe next time I might go for the stage 3 but in no way am I unhappy with the stage 2.
Keep in mind I might only have 400-500ish miles on it and this is just me first impressions.

I was cleaning my house up and i found the order from clutchexpress. I paid $407 for the clutch and $48 for the slave. I ended up paying $550 for labour. I thought i read somebody paid $1000 for a stock one from the dealership. I ended up paying $1005 for everything. That said I would not get the stock ford one when for about the same price you could have the stage 2 or the stage 3 which was the same price at clutchexpress. Looking back I kind of wish I would have just got the stage 3 but I kind of thought I didn't need it and the guy at clutchexpress talked me out of it. I still think I don't really NEED the stage 3 but i kind of think it would be a little more fun. Oh well i got about 1,000 miles on the stage 2 and I love it no complaints.
