98-00 have a bunch of electrical problems. i'm guessing you have check gage, brake and abs lights, and a check engine light?

the check gage is probably oil pressure. thats not an issue. it just needs to warm up and get the prssure built up. mine usually doesn't go out unless i drive around for like a half hour.

check engine light is probably P0455. Fuel vapor leak caused by loose gas cap most commonly. mine went out about 2 weeks after i fixed the gas cap. the computer has to run a new diagnostic if after you fix the problem and it generally takes about 200 miles.

Brake and ABS light are usually low fluid or a leak. broken ABS wire. or something is dry rotted or disconnected.

thats just stuff that has happened to mine so i'm spit ballin.

the airbag light is on cause the passenger airbag light burnt out...the cel comes on alot for some reason....most of the time its egr related stuff...and ive replaced everything i can for the egr system....some times it gives me a maf code....but thats rare....the door ajar light is always on... and i just got rid of the abs light....all i did for that was replaced my brakes and disconnected and reconnected the rear abs sensor

I've got a bunch of stuff I want to do, so I can't say the same... haha

But we'll give it a good once over at the meet if its still acting up. Check all the hoses and junk.
Just because everyone knows its better when 3 other guys who have no idea what's wrong look at it too :)

I've been putting some money into my 2003 Ranger for basic maintenance and repairs as things wear out. I just ask myself what would a new Ranger cost, and I'm reminded that having a used Ranger is a much better deal.

I haven't had any electrical problems with my 99'. Maybe I got lucky or maybe my problem is there's something broke and no lights come on for it haha. Have you tried disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10+ minutes to reset the computer

I've had all of those complaints. Those aren't actual electrical PROBLEMS those are just complaints from any ordinary person. All the ones listed on there take 10-20 minutes to take care of and nothing major.

Wipers turning on by themselves + new multifunction switch = fixed
Dome light/door ajar on + WD40 = fixed
Instrument cluster bulbs going out + replacement bulb = fixed
Smoke from under dash + FORD RECALL = fixed ----> Only actual problem on the list on that website

Burning bulbs on a gauge cluster is an electrical problem? More like wear and tear. Its like saying that when a bulb in a house goes out that the whole house has an electrical problem. Yeahhhhhhhh
