Exhaust is too quiet, need ideas.

I got a v6 4.0L with a stock cat to a cherry bomb extreme single in dual out muffler, with dual 2.5" in pipes running out behind the rear tires. Its too quiet for the 200 something bucks i dumped into the to make it sound nicer. Should i punch the cat out or do some surgery to fit in a new muffler?

most likely it will just change the tone of it,the only other thing to actully make it louder is get a cat back system or a different muffler
