EGR Issue Can any one help???

Alright my 01 just turned 61000 miles. I had a code come up for a "clogged' or the "bad EGR valve'. So i know that FORD has issues with EGR's in all models. So i turned to the EGR valve. I replaced it and now the code is back. It only comes back when i take the truck to higher speeds. Freeway traffic. What is the world could be wrong that i keep getting the Code? Is there a trick to fixing this issue? Maybe a easy common fix? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for any help that you can give.

There is no code that is specifically for a "bad EGR valve" or a "clogged EGR valve" . Maybe someone gave you that worded description.

Do you know the actual alphanumeric trouble code? If it is the very common code P0401 or P0402 or both, it means that the measured EGR flow rate does not match the flow rate commanded by the PCM. Those codes are almost always caused by a failure of the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor or occasionally by a leak in one of its hoses. IMO, it is better to replace a DPFE sensor with a genuine Ford part, not aftermarket.

So you don't think it could be a faulty EGR valve? Again i already replaced it so. I do appreciate the help. I just found it ironic that the this went out once it hit 60000 miles. That would of been the warrenty milage!!!.

I called a local dealer and he said that 9 times out of 10 that its the sensor and not the Valve. He had mentioned thaqt the EGR valve issue has not been since the late 80's. So i am going to go with the sensor!. Thanks everyone for the input.
