ebrake

im not sure were to post this but... ive been having problems with the ebrake... it works fine lol but it gets stuck whenever i apply the ebrake it wont disingauge i have to floor it and violently dissingage it... any ideas on what the problem is... ive got a brake job coming up in a week are two and was hopping to address the problem while ive got the rig in the air... thanks guys

sticking ebrake is pretty common. new hardware in the drums will help but even then....

usually if mine gets stuck i just floor it in reverse and lock up the brakes. works like a charm lol

I would get a brake kit which should come with new springs.

ive done it several times at work b4 i pull the chit apart.

i had this exact thing happen on two of my rangers. drums and hardware were always fine, it was the e brake cables themselves that rusted out on the inside and seized. You have to replace them. Pretty cheap and easy. Do it sooner than later cause I let mine go on my 03 for awhile and ended up completely wearing out my driverside rear drums and not my passenger side at all.

^^ exactly what he said. I've had to get my cables replaced twice because of them rusting and seizing when using the ebrake.
