well, not to bring up an old thread but the ranger has been purchased!!!! As soon as I get to pick it up I will have pictures up and start a "project log" Also, purchased the motor and transmission a couple weeks ago, 302 carbed and a C4 auto

yeah but man that would be sweet, big ole 8-71 sticking up out of the hood, dual 1250 Holley dominators under a huge intake scoop with 3 butterfly's....open longtube headers rompin around town, dang that would be a sweet dream

 

I had a 66 chevy short bed almost like that, but I had a 6-71 blower not a 8-71....this will be a mild build lol

 

I was there racing my Merkur that day. The Ranger belongs for my friend Ethans father.The ranger has a 557 BBF that runs on propane with a Vortec supercharger only running 5psi,he was having some issues that day...maybe because it was like 98* in the shade that day.

Maybe not quite at the level your shooting for but I have done some low-buck racing in my old 87 2.3 Ranger.I did lots of testing at the track to get this thing to hook.In the end it was so simple it was a crime.Yes it wasnt very fast.....12.50's @ 111mph ,but it would yank the wheels on the street on BFG DR's{ the only tire I ever used}
