Still patiently sitting

So everything seemed to point to the PCM so I bought a new one and its still not starting and blinking theft, 11 blinks and the Forscan software is saying not receiving PATs probably damaged PCM???

I checked pins 17 and 18 for continuity and voltage I got 11.74 dc volts and have continuity but its still not starting and flashing 11

New, or used PCM, would need to have current keys programmed/added into PATS memory

Mobile locksmith can do that
Or you can with Forscan software on a Laptop
Need minimum of 2 PATS keys to program

PCM

The PCM is used from a company called Flagship, supposed to have been reconditioned ,flashed double checked quality control before being sent out with 2 keys, if the light is still blinking the 11 code and the test says the PCM is getting voltage and Forscan says the computer isn't receiving PATS from the transponder its the PCM isnt it? If the PCM isn't reading the transponder what good would it be to have 2 keys the computer can't read? Or am I missing something here?

The transponder is a powered antenna, a ring around the ignition key slot
If its not working then the PATS key number would never make it to the computer(PATS system) to be checked

Transponders are not a "matched" part, any transponder that fits your year Ranger steering column will work, 4 wire unit, plug and play

I have today and the weekend off hopefully I can figure out whats going on. Again I bought a new PCM but when I hooked it up it gave me the same readings as the old one. I checked pinout wires for continuity and then just because I had the meter out I checked 17 and 18 for DC volts it turns out with key on pinout 18 is getting 11.74 dc volts? I thought maybe theres a mistake about which pins are for the antenna but the nearest pinout diagram online for a 2002 4.0 is a pinout for a 2003 4.0 but all of them say 17 and 18 are not even used???

The transceiver is a "powered" antenna
Power is the 12v and ground, 2 wires

The other two wires are used for the same function as the 2 wires than come in from your Radio's antenna, 2 wires in the form of a Coaxial(round) cable, center and outer wire

So 17 and 18 have no "voltage" but do pass a signal from transceiver to computer when PATS is activated with key on, like your Radio receives a signal from near by radio broadcasting towers
The antenna in the transceiver picks up the wireless broadcast from the PATS key, 17 and 18 are the continuation of the "antenna's"(coil's) 2 wires, like the wire that comes in from passenger side radio antenna to the back of the radio in the cab

No "voltage", just a signal

PATS code 11 Transceiver [transponder coil] not connected, or there is no power to it.

If new transceiver looks to be in good condition, then yes computer may be the issue

You would test the pin 17 and 18 wires with continuity or ohm meter, need a long jumper wire to do this
This thing is bizarre, I checked it again earlier this morning, checked the 4 wire harness to pins 17 and 18, it said pin 17 was receiving 12.4 volts DC, nothing on 18, with key on, key off contuity from orange and green wire to 17 of course and continuity from yellow and green wire to 18, now after plugging in the old PCM to see if anything has changed i still get no start, and fast blinking theft but upon unhooking, the old computer and retesting the volts and continuity theres no volts to the PCM and it has continunity for 17 and 18 to the same 4 way connector pins 📌 and it has 12.4 volts at the correct.wire ???? Is this wiring shorting out intermittently and sending volts to the RF maybe screwing up the computer?

What I'm saying is I tested the 17 and 18 pins and one of them had voltage , I then disconnected the battery hooked up the old computer to see if I was receiving the same fast blinking on anti theft, and I was. I removed the computer and tested the 4 way plug to pins 17 and 18 and this time I only recorded continuity there wasnt any voltage to pins 17 and 18, bizarre I know, I also checked the 2 other wires in the 4 way plug for power to the transceiver and it had 12 volts. How and why would 12 volts be channeled to the PCM and then not?
