damnit...

Ok so I go to sell my winch, and the guy was going to meet me in 1h, and he was 100$ sure to buy it. So I decide what the hell I'll start taking little pieces out like the rollers and frozen lock for my mount, as well as 2 screws that hold the winch. So that when he takes it, I'm not freezing my *** off to undo it. WELL, he wants to try it by pulling his truck, just to make sure it works. That's cool since I know it does, I just forgot that I took 2 main screws out. Start pulling his truck and the cast iron busts where the two top bars hold it all together. He tells me to fix it and call him when it's ready, and he'll take it. This happend on a friday at 11pm, and the winch was disassembled at midnight to find the exact part I needed. Call up Mile Marker last monday, give them my winch model, name of the part I needed, and part number. 17$ for the part, 18$ shipping. That's fine by me, put it on the credit card and play the waiting game.

Now we are Friday, just got home from work, and I see a box in front of my door. Your thinking ok, so what? Problem is, I LIVE IN A TOWN HOUSE! And there are like 50 other houses connected to me, UPS just decided to leave it in plain view of everyone. Now my anger went from 0, to level 1.

Open up the box, check all the info on my little sheet, everything checks out, but something looks weird. I fluff it off and go downstairs to fix it up. THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PEICE! Same part number, same model, but the end bearing is totally different!

Here is what I mean (camera pics)

The whole thing is about 1/2" taller, the gear is larger, there is no indent like my old one, and the little screw holes are on the outside instead of the inside. NOW my anger level is at 1,000,000. I just spend 50$ to get the wrong part, will most likely have to pay 20$ to ship it back, and 20$ shipping to get the right part, that's if they get it right this time. I almost feel like sending both back to show them what I need.

Sent Mile Marker an email explaining my situation, asked them if I could ship both parts at my cost, and they ship the new correct one free of charge for both the part and shipping. I guess I'll see how that turned out on Monday..
