Thanks.

You will find most members here will recommend the SCT custom programmed by Doug @ Bama chips.

EDIT: unfortunately its quite a bit more expensive than $69.

The price sounded too good to be true, so I went and had a lookie on their website. From that site, and for the Ranger, "The GF module installs into your FORD RANGER's engine bay and is connected via 2 wires that plug into the IAT sensor." Now I smell a rat, and it's NOT the first time on "chips" like this. Sounds like nothing more than a 50 cent resistor encased in a cute plastic box that's scabbed into the wiring, with the intent being that it's altering voltage to the ECM, with an attempt being made to make the vehicle run richer. Take note that a real chip, like the one shown on their website but obviously not the one they send you, will always have several connections, not two. Pass on this product.

So...I went to the SCT website, did a search for my Ranger, and checked out the results...I'm gonna need a little explanation on the differences between the different models, i.e. the Touch Screen Xtreme and the Touch Screen Xtreme with Off Road Tune, etc. I'm new to the whole programmer thing lol. That being said, I can see why you guys like them, judging from their website they have their stuff squared away.

Doug from BamaChips is working with/for American Muscle now. Their focus is mostly on Mustangs; I'm not sure if they're doing any custom tunes for Rangers. I got mine from Bama a few years ago and love it, but I've heard good things about Fred @ Rogue.

How do I get in touch with him? Also, what is different about the various tuners that SCT offers?

Ok so I googled "Rogue chips" and "Rogue tuning" and the closest result I could find was a Porsche place. Is this the right one?
