Hello and thanks again for all the previous help.

1999 ranger, 2.3 5 -speed. Key turns freely in the steering column. No sense of 'tumblers' engaging anything. Tried using a pin punch up thru the little hole to release the key cylinder and replace it. BUT the cylinder will not come out.

Had a locksmith look at it about 1 year ago when the key woukd not turn at all. Fiddled with it long enough (broke it worse maybe ). It has worked for about a year

Anyway now there is no resistance at all with the key. Just turns all the way and nothing.

Is my next option drilling out the old cylinder?
