Cancelled my Ford ESP Contract today

Like the title says I had a 5 year 100k mile extracare on my truck that was paid for out of pocket from my loan. My mom works for Ford Buyback and deals with people and modifiing there vehicles everyday, needless to say they get nothing fixed and the warranties get cancelled. I am not sure if it was the right thing to do but the money I will get back can pay other things off and will just have to fork out the cash if something breaks on the truck now.

Just not sure if I made the right decision, maybe I could have attempted to get something fixed under the warranty but if it wasnt covered due to the stuff on the truck then I would be in the same boat as I am in the futher now that its cancelled.

Any thoughts on what you all would have done?

Sounds good, if something hasnt happened already in the 48,000 miles you've had her, i dont think you will have any major problems soon.

Wise desition, with all the mods you've done to your truck i dont think ford would fix anything on it, they would just blame it on the after market products.

I never would have bought it. That's just me. I've literally saved $1,000's by saying no on tools, cars, appliances, etc. Sadly it's spent on other stuff so I can't say I have $1,000's by not buying them.

Well when I bought the truck I had no intentions of modding it to what it is now. Thanks alot to you guys on R-F you see what its done lol.

The really only reason I bought it was becuase of the parts cost, I can wrench on it myself for free but the parts is what adds up.

hmmm...I think that was an awesome decision...

I have the same thing...until 75k miles..I am at 52k right now, I haven't used the warranty once. is there a way I could cancel it liek you did? I was thinking about it for a while, but said nevermind...I thought it would be more work than it was worth.

It was like 1k or something like that for mine...might have been more (like 25/month more on my payments IIRC)

See my situation was a little different here, I paid out of pocket for my warranty so I will be getting a check back. If you finance the warranty in the loan then I am not sure how they work it. You can go to the dealer and ask then about it, or you can call ESP direct at 800-521-4144 and talk to them.

what does the Ford ESP cover? Like, say my tranny takes a dump will they replace it? or what if a timing chain breaks and i blow the engien, will the replace it?

thats really my only concern, all the little stuff i can handle, its the big stuff ie- the transmission - which i have had problems with, that bothers me.

Depends on the plan that you want, the one I had the extracare covered the powertrain. Engine, trans, transfer case, differentials and all of the powertrain sensors.
