Nah, it ain't illegal, not in Indiana. If a guy with plastic tarps for windows, a door held on w/ bailin' wire, and no exhaust, can get past the police, I think full hydro steering will get by under the radar just fine.

 

as long as you run is so that its like 8 turns lock to lock it should be fine, i've seen that on some DDs

i wouldnt recommend running full hyrdo on a DD or even a street driven truck..

lose power and you lost steering..aka what happened to beard..and i dont want to drive something that looses steering..

 

x2 i'd rather the motor to crap out before my brakes or steering failed

pretty much man, ever since you told me that i have been checking it.

I am letting it cool right now, we just welded the body lift piece to it and tubed it up.

It a decent temporary fix.

I will not be running any stock piece of crap, almost cost me my life or someone elses.

I am in search of a new shaft. maybe one from Flamming River

well I'm disappointed...

I spent all night on this other shaft and it is horrible, somehow i must have bent it or whatever but it lopes around and wont go back to center.

All well guess I will have to wait until I get a new one made. Merry Christmas to me... not. lol

I remember reading somewhere that the stock ranger shaft will work with no modification to the yota box, you just clamp it on the spines. So I think I will try to grab one and see if I cant just pop it on for now.

Yours should be good evan. Mine is more because of the angle to the toyota steering box.

Flaming river is going to make me a billet shaft that is plated for corrosion for 259, I already shipped the joints to them just going to be a week or more. :(

 

freakin sweet....Flaming River is some REALLY good steering shafts.....

 

I think you made the right choice by getting one custom made by them. My dad is very happy with the one from them on his f-150.
