you gotta file a claim with the shipper since they damaged it. take pics of the damage. then go to the shippers location, like u are gonna ship something and talk to them. theyll prolly wanna look at anyways,

well im going to contact the seller first off.. The problem now is that the shipping starts with USPS and then switches to the Postal Service here in Canada.

Taking pictures is going to be difficult to get the damage cause you see it on different angles and certain light. Its not huge, i didnt notice it yesterday taking everything out of the package.. Just noticed it tonight when checking it over. F**K I knew this would eventually happen using the internet to order.

Well they see the damage but the only problem is now waiting. I have 1 week to wait for the shipping tag, then 7 days shipping to them and then once they receive they will ship a new one back to me. Or I get a $25 credit.

I told them I want to exchange... :S

Was there any damage to the paint? If not it is possible it was made that way. What was the packaging like on the item?

There is a little pin ***** right where the dent is but I wouldnt say it penetrated through the paint. Maybe that is where contact happened and thats where the damage came from, I dont know. They are saying its the manufacturer but they will deal with all that they said. They acknowledged the damage and that was my main concern.

To me the packaging wasnt very great. The box was beat up pretty bad and it just had a thin sheet of bubble wrap draped/drapped (not sure the spelling) around it. Im sure these boxes get tossed around during shipping, judging from the condition the box was in.

So minimum 3 weeks until i have pictures of the bar on the truck. Only upside is winter will almost be over.

That sucks, but I'd rather wait and get another, but without any dents!

exactly... thats how i feel. I kept contemplating should i just keep it or not and then I finally said no way!! I paid good money for it so it should be in perfect condition.. I am packaging it up tonight and they are now sending a truck tomorrow to pick it up.. So in roughly 2 weeks i should have another one.

Where did you get the Bull Bar from? and was it cheaper then on www.driverfx.ca??

Reason I ask is I got my Westin Safari Bar for a decent price off there and it was shipped from the southern Ontario warehouse.

I know what you mean about the cheap packaging. My safari bar was wrapped in bubble wrap and then bagged in a thin plastic bag, which was then put into the Westin box which has no padding or space fillers in in. The box has at least 2" too much space on all sides and the bar just flops around. The brackets and mounting hardware were in a better package and more bubble wrap.

Ah well. Glad to hear that the company isn't giving you the run around....especially being from "out of town"....LOL

Hey Rolldog I believe I did get a better price then on that site. I got it for $239 + shipping, the best price I could find.

As for the packaging mine was exactly the same as your safari bar. The bar is wrapped in little bubble wrap and the brackets are smothered in it. I wrapped it much better then they did to send it back to hopefully prevent more damage.

The truck is going to be here tonight between 5:30 - 8:00 to pick it up. I am starting to get nervous with the company because they keep asking me if im sure I went to send it back and they keep referring to the damage as "just a little damage". I said it doesnt matter, damage is damage and I would like to have a new one. So ill see what happens.

Make sure they don't ding you with hidden charges.......sounds like they're trying to warn you about something but not saying what.

I'm not sure how thick the metal is on that bar, but you could possibly get that dent out with dry ice...

well its to late now its already been shipped back.. should be there this week sometime. The only charge I might have is customs again. ($13) The ding is small but its still a ding and its on the front. It's not like I paid a couple bucks for the thing or bought it used. It was over 400 bucks after shipping, conversion and customs. Alot of money to spend just to settle with a damaged item.

CALL and explain your problem, AGAIN. Tell them you want to have it inspected before it leaves, and you also want them to INSTALL EXTRA PACKING to insure this doesn’t happen again. Not to mention all the inconvenience this has caused.

Sounds like you got taken to the cleaners.
Next time, go DriverFX.ca

Black safari bar w/ mounting hardware shipped to my door via UPS - $316.38 CAN. and it wasn't shipped much better then yours, but it came dent and scratch free.

I'd complain like a squeaky wheel.

Hope it works out for you.

Well I called and I complained and they are saying they took pictures of it before they sent it which showed it in 100% perfect condition. I contacted UPS to put in a shipping claim and they told me the shipper needs to.. I told the company I bought from this info and they said they will do it right away. I guess I will find out Monday if they did or not.

This bull bar has 3 counted dents. 1 Big 1 Med and 1 Small .. I asked for them to pack it differently after the first time and they actually said no and that this is the way it comes from the manufacturer. I am going to be contacting ebay and westin come Monday. I know Westin doesnt cover shipping problems but I think they ought to know of the customer service im receiving in regards to a company selling their product. Hopefully I can resolve this.

well in the end of this all i ended up keeping the second bull bar they sent... ups offered me 120 bucks for the bar and that would mean they get to keep it... the company i bought from offered me a refund for the product only. That would put me out just under 150 bucks in shipping and customs charges. so i declined and kept the bar. the bar is on and pics will be up tonight.

To all you interested in the company name its "Accessories of America" on Ebay. They have great feedback I just did not have a great experience.

Finally I thank the "Search" feature on this website. I was having a problem with the install instructions and I found a thread of someone showing how they did theirs but with a body lift. Helped me very much eventhough i dont have a lift. Thanks everyone for your feedback aswell.
