Brake fluid low / leaking

2005 STX - 175000km

Put new pads on 2000km ago with everything all good. Adjusted the sliders, etc. no leaks
Had the rear tires off and cleaned and serviced the drums. No leaks.

Saw that my fluid was a bit low after the work 2 months ago. Topped up and made a mark with my sharpie. Brake fluid is down about half an inch in 2 months now. Checked the master cylinder and no visible leaks. Brake booster is bone dry, no peeling paint or nothing. So not sure where I am leaking

Is it possible that the master cylinder is leaking directly inside the brake booster? I inspected under the brake peddle this morning and its dry, not that i would expect to see much. Could possibly be the proportional valve i suppose, but everything looked bone dry under the hood......

crawled under the truck and I cant see any leaks at any of the lines, so i am kinda stumped right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Brake calipers and slaves(wheel cylinders) need/hold more brake fluid as the pads and shoes wear down
So you may just be seeing brake fluid level drop from use
I would refill to your line and recheck in a few months or ???

You could just loosen the two nuts on Master and see if any brake fluid drips out between master and booster, to take that off the table

The front pads are brand new 1000km ago. Motocraft OEM. The rotors were refinished about 5000 km ago. The rear shoes are pretty old, but still had a decent amount of meat on them.

Maybe I will top up one more time and see what happens.

Doesn't matter, as far as the age of the pads or shoes, each time you apply the brakes some of the friction material wears off, so caliper piston stays farther out so has more brake fluid behind it, same for the slaves
