Now I just need to figure out how I can afford a lift and sneak it on there without the family noticing...

camodown 10-01-2007 07:52 PM

don't forget about an alignment, unless you want to wear those tires out real fast and get bigger ones :)

Hopefully getting bigger tires after Christmas and. I have an allignment scheduled for Wed., the same time as getting the Exhaust put on and the tires rotated and a brake adjustment. I test drove it around the block after cranking the t-bars and it hasn't moved since then.

I have a quick question. Lets say I crank the t bars 2 inches, and the tires get out of alignment. Then I decide to crank the bars back down 2 inches. Will the tires go back into alignment, or will they still be out of alignment from when I cranked the t bars?

I would very much like to do that, but I'd have to rebuild my rear bumper and get brackets made for my WAAG Bar. Unless I sold the WAAG Bar and bought the BL.... You wanna help me put it on?

Ranger_Guy15 10-06-2007 12:18 PM

Not to thread jack, but how hard is it to install a 3 inch body lift? I have been thinking of putting one in, and Im not sure if I have the technical savvy to put one in, even though my dad would be helping me out, who has a fair amount of knowledge about vehicles.

Looks good Mike!!

deprato07 11-05-2007 07:34 PM

how did you level it out? is it just like a trial and error? or did you count the turns or what? and will it stop turning when there maxed? i was thinking about going til there maxed then come back a few turns.. would that help from wearing very quickly? also how can you tell when your torsion bars are worn? sorry noob lol

Trigger01 11-05-2007 07:39 PM

I haven't leveled it out yet. I will be ordering an AAL to level it out. It will stop turning when it's maxed.

I sold the WAAG bar already, sorry. I was planning on using it and some other money for a lift, but I will be using it for gear installation and the AAL.
After Christmas I should be getting it leveled out with the AAL, Getting my 4:10's put in and some 32's or 33's.

Jack up the front end so the tires are off the ground. turn the bolt to the desired level(all the way in my case). Lower the truck from the jack, drive it aroud for a few minutes(around the block will do the trick) and then go get it alligned or it will eat up your tires.

deprato07 11-06-2007 12:50 PM

alright! i work at a dealership so allignment is free.. sounds good
ill see how she work!

post some pictures when you get it all done. I ordered my AAL's last night and I may get them on before Christmas, just depends on how antsy I get.

deprato07 11-07-2007 02:14 PM

ya im picking up new tires soon, so i should get it done and alligned befor i switch so i dont screw up the new tires

mdills 11-07-2007 09:41 PM

looks good. You can also get some new torsion keys and get an additional 3" of lift.

bruiser 11-11-2007 10:45 PM
